Shawn Chummar serves as Broker of Indemnity Excess & Surplus Agency.  He is responsible for the assessment and placement of risks, negotiating coverage terms, maintaining retail partner and carrier relationships, and providing IES’s legendary customer service.

Mr. Chummar joined IES April 1998 as an Assistant Broker.  He quickly gained valuable knowledge of the insurance industry and markets. This knowledge combined with his strength in finance and customer service led to Mr. Chummar’s promotion to Broker in two years.

Prior to joining IES, Mr. Chummar worked as Supervisor for a National warehouse retail chain, and a Credit Analysts for a regional equipment leasing organization.  This provided him with a unique insight into the types of operations he reviews today.

Mr. Chummar is a licensed Property / Casualty, and Surplus Lines agent in Oregon.  He holds a B.S. degree in Finance.  He enjoys spending time with his wife and sons, and volunteering with church ministries such as Empower Africa, which he holds close to his heart.

Remembering I have a duty not only to the retail agent, but also to their clients, and ensure that I treat both with the highest level of service.
